Eileen Fisher Interview
It’s been interesting because, really, the essence of our clothing isn’t so different. What’s actually different is the way we’re showing these pieces that we see as timeless can be put together in ways that are really modern. - Eileen FisherIn an interview with the Boston Globe, Eileen Fisher discussed her choices for updating her classic line of clothing. She covered her influences, from global looks like the Japanese kimono to Indian clothing and scarves, and her goal of dressing in minutes every day. With a new emphasis on designing for a wide range of ages and style (Fisher's daughter wears her mother's designs), she balances fresh looks with timeless fabrics and cuts. Most importantly, she talked about keeping the same aesthetic in her pieces;
The line is an evolution. But it doesn’t change so radically. We have fabrics that we know and we trust. We repeat certain colors. Because the line works sort of holistically, customers can add a few pieces and add it back to old pieces and they can feel modern. And that’s exciting. - Eileen FisherSee new pieces from the updated line in our Eileen Fisher New Arrivals section.
